RECIPE: Pomegranate Sauce
Cook & Cork’s Pomegranate Rosh Hashanah Sauce
Great when used as a sauce for chicken or potato pancakes!
- 2 green apples, peeled & sliced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1-2 tb sugar, depending on taste
- 1tb pomegranate molasses (from Mid-East market) or substitute grenadine and cut back sugar
Or substitute pomegranate juice and reduce to syrup before adding
- ¼ cup water
Simmer everything on low until liquid is almost gone and apples are soft.
Mash with potato masher, season with pinch of salt & pepper
